I put on over 20kg after being in a stressful job for just over 2 years. After finally 'breaking free' I took control of what I was aimlessly putting in my body and lost the weight - which unfortunately meant that my chest, which was once a full D cup - completely disappeared and I was left with 'empty' skin and shattered self-confidence. I was so stressed by the appearance of my chest that I would cover it up completely. I also have psoriasis which flared up because I was so nervous about anyone seeing my breasts - and it got worse as I was covered all the time, my skin saw no vitamin D.
In Thailand, my surgeon, the nurses and all the Medi Makeovers staff were incredible and I could not have asked for a better experience. I was picked up at the airport and taken to my accommodation. Everything was so well organised - which was great as I could just focus on my recovery. I was a bit in shock when I was told the size that was recommended for me, however when I tried it on it didn't look as big as I thought it would - it looked almost identical to the size my breasts were before. I completely understand that different CC sizes look different on everybody. You are given the chance to 'try on' different sizes and make your decision - although I was told by the surgeon that he would never put an implant in that was too big for their body - as you can risk having your skin stretch too thinly.
I was given strong pain medication and antibiotics - both whilst I was in hospital and for the days that followed whilst I was in Bangkok. I almost didn't want to leave the hospital - the nurses were so great! They helped me with literally everything from plugging in my phone to charge to washing my hair and changing my dressings. I didn't feel so much pain as I did tightness - which was completely bearable and that feeling went away within a couple of weeks as my swelling subsided. I recovered in the Grande Centre Point Terminal 21 - what an incredible hotel! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. It was also really great not having to make a bed for 2 weeks.
The hotel is positioned right on top of a shopping centre and all of the food shops did takeaway - and if you're not the biggest fan of Thai food, don't stress! There were so many different cuisines - Mexican, Italian, Japanese.. and of course you can even order Mcdonalds to your hotel room. The hotel is also really central and you can hop on the SkyTrain (which is right outside the hotel) and go to other shopping centres like MBK.
I don't regret my decision to have surgery in Bangkok at all - it was easier to be away from my daily life, be in a place with such a lovely culture (where almost everyone is smiling!) and recover with daily massages! If you aren't happy with something, and you have the chance to change it - do it. Life is too short to be unhappy with your body - and you are the only person who can truly make YOU happy (well.. and Medi Makeovers! hehe).
I had a lot of people telling me beforehand that 'you don't need implants, don't be stupid', but they really didn't know what I looked like without stuffing my bra full and hiding any evidence that I had absolutely nothing in my chest. At the end of the day, there is still a stigma attached to having surgery - which is sad. I didn't get implants for anyone else - or to improve my appearance to 'impress' anybody. I got them because I was unhappy with my body, and I could do something to fix it.
I'm the happiest I've ever been as my confidence is renewed and it's helped me in many other ways. Most people don't even know that I have them! It's also really important to follow what your surgeon says and follow the advice of Medi Makeovers. Don't go over thinking it will be your typical type of holiday - you wouldn't go and party after having surgery at home, so why would you do it in Thailand? The service and care you get over there is incredible, I wouldn't do it any other way.
